Real Steel #1 at the Box Office for 2nd Week in a Row

The boxing robots of "Real Steel" delivered their second knockout in two weeks, taking in an estimated $16.3 million this weekend -- $200,000 more than "Footloose" and enough to keep the movie at the top of the North American box office. Although Universal's "The Thing" underperformed, its estimated $8.7 million was enough to put it in third place. The other movie that opened to wide release this weekend, Fox's comedy "The Big Year," was a big disappointment, grossing a meager $3.32 million, according to studio estimates. That put it in ninth place.

Glad it beat Footloose, that movie look dumb.

Domestic Total as of Oct. 16, 2011: $51,744,000

+ Foreign: $22,100,000
= Worldwide: $73,844,000

I think the foreign hasn't been updated yet because it was the exact same last week. So it has probably made at least 80 million worldwide.
