This is so Upsetting - No Real Steal Promoting

Real Steel will be out in less than a month and so far no new Evi photoshoots, magazine covers, or scheduled talkshow appearances... nothing. We have been deprived of it since Lost ended. And she rarely did editorials for magazines back then. I was really looking forward to all this stuff when Real Steel came out. It would make my day just to see one new Evi solo photoshoot that is not for L'Oreal. Well there goes my rant

Please tell me that I'm not the only one feeling this.

I feel the same, this is supposed to be her big "comeback" but we haven't seen anything of her yet and the movie will be out in 3 weeks . Her publicist needs a good kick up the butt.

It also really pisses me off that you see all these media whore celebs getting appearing in magazine and doing photoshoots when they aren't even doing anything significant. Yet, Evi has a legit reason to make these sorts of appearances and she doesn't. I really don't get it. Her appearing on magazines and on TV more will only help promote the movie.

Yeah, it's sad... I miss her terribly.
It's not surprising, though. She doesn't like to make promotions and show off too much.
She's very private. Plus, the movie is more centered on Hugh's character.
But I guess she should promote the movie in at least one talk show.

Well, in her defense, she did just have a baby - one she's been wanting for years. I love seeing her, too, but her main concern has never been acting. So it's not really that surprising.

also she is about to film another movie.

^Photoshoots are done way ahead of time.... so it woudn't have gotten in the way of her filming of the Hobbit.

And I'm sure she could take a week or two off to promote Real Steel.

Also, doing that sort of promotional stuff helps promote her movie and herself as an actress. And although her main concern is not acting it is still her job/source of income. I'm worried that because she is so dismissive of promoting her films, it is gonna make producers and directors not want to cast her in future rolls.

I know that, but it doesn't mean I can't be disappointed.

On the other hand, perhaps Evi should fire her publicist and get a new one. The other thing is we don't know how much of it is not Evi's choice. She might not be getting offers. Maybe more magazines should be contacting her and she would be happy to do a cover story or an ed for them.

I'm not blaming anyone for this. I'm just saying I really thought there would be tons of Evi when Real Steel came out and am really bummed that there isn't.

She said in the interview that she loved the films and the characters and felt she couldn't let them pass her by, but that she is enjoying her life so much more now that there aren't paparazzi constantly around her, so she hopes her fame status doesn't rise again. She really doesn't want the buzz that comes with the movies coming out. She just wants to carry on like normal. That's what I gathered from the interview anyway

Thats what she says in the interview but to be honest the movie studios don't care what Evi thinks about fame or how she wants to live her life there is £80 million + riding on this movie and the only thing they care about is making money. So if the studios want her to promote this movie then she should because that is what is expected from her after they paid her hundreds of thousands of Dollars (possibly Millions) to be in the movie.

Why wouldn't her contract include promotion? she wasn't pregnant at the time she signed on to be in the movie .
