I don't know how many people are assuming she will be in part I.
I think the 3 blocks of filming are for both movies but im not sure.
I think she will have a small role in the first movie, possibly at the end just to introduce the character then a bigger role in the 2nd movie.

Re: The Hobbit - news
They probably are for both films. With LOTR they filmed all 3 at once then just came back for pick-ups.
I guess we won't know if she's in both until someone working on the films confirms it, and we don't even know how big a role the character will be. :s

Official Hobbit Casting Call For Elves
An official casting call for Elves in the upcoming Hobbit films has been posted at TradeMe.co.nz.
The production is looking for “slim” people to play Elf extras. Details can be found over at the link provided above, but the basic brief is as follows:
Men must be aged 17 – 30 with a height of 165 cm – 178 cm.
Women must be aged 17 – 30 with a height of 165cm – 173cm.
The advert states that filming is due in Wellington in September.

With filming of the elf extras due in September I assume that this is when Evi starts filming too...which is only a few weeks away.
Re: The Hobbit - news
Those are good news for the people who can become an extra! I would like to, but I'm shorter and live too far away! Haha
, anyway, thanks for sharing!
Tati, did you? In a movie? That's awesome
. I just was an extra in a tv commercial once but nobody can recognize me from the "crowd" that can be seen on it

Snotty elves: Evangeline Lilly makes a welcome return to the screen as Hugh Jackman's long-suffering girlfriend in Real Steel, but she's now shooting The Hobbit in New Zealand, playing a powerful elf character. Let's just say these guys are not your adorable Frodo-and- Sam-variety hobbits.
"The key to playing an elf is to be extremely poised and snotty," said Lilly, breaking into laughter. "Yes, they have airs about them. They have to be better than everyone else. Especially the Sylvan elves, like I play."
Lilly says the elves are "not mean," but are "dark" and "very severe." So, don't expect little Keebler cookies.
