Her family is very religious, and she was as well. but having a baby is something she wanted for a long time.

Interesting! In the interviews I noticed she's said she's been searching all her life about morality, and she said the work in Rwanda was for humanitarian and not religious reasons, so maybe religion isn't as important to her anymore..

Just because she's religious doesn't mean she's some sort of old-fashioned prude. Dom is an atheist and she was with him for a long time.

Women have children out of wedlock all the time these days, it's nothing peculiar really. Evi is in her 30's, is very educated and very successful, there is nothing irresponsible about her having this child, especially considering the fact that she's still with the guy...

I have always sort of assumed that Evi has strong faith but is still a pretty progressive woman.

I totally agree with everything you have said. But I have wondered what her parent's reaction was to the pregnancy considering they seem to be very strict probably more strict than Evi would like them to be .

I totally agree with this.
of course she would want her parents support but she is perfectly capable of raising this child, love him and giving this boy everything he needs.
