Kate's toy airplane is the key prop in her life story prior to Oceanic Flight 815 crashing onto the Island. The plane belongs to Tom, Kate's childhood sweetheart. As a child, Tom acquires it as a souvenir from a trip he took to Dallas by himself, without adult supervision. Later, Kate and Tom bury the plane in a time capsule, which they then dig up as they wait for the time for Kate to meet up with her dying mother. When Tom is killed by an officer's bullet during Kate's escape from the police, the plane is left on the back seat of Kate's car as she flees the scene. The plane is recovered by United States Marshal Edward Mars, who locks it in a safety deposit box near Ruidoso, New Mexico. Upon learning of its whereabouts, Kate engineers a bank robber and finds the plane in a safety deposit box numbered 815. After Mars apprehends Kate in Australia, the plane is placed in a Halliburton briefcase. It is finally reunited with Kate on the Island. Measuring approximately 5 inches long each, the airplanes are models of a Douglas DC-3 propeller aircraft, with the number "5025" marked on the wing. Both have various scruff marks and parts of the tail broken off.

Kate's United States passport and copy of a police mugshot, as carried by U.S. Marshall Edward Mars, whose custody Kate is under when Oceanic Flight 815 crashed. After years of pursuing Kate for the murder of her stepfather, Mars finally apprehends Kate in Australia and secures their fateful seats on Oceanic Airlines Flight 815.

Re: Lost Auction Preview.
Both fangirls/fanboys, who may or may not have the money, will probably find at least several of the lots in the auction of interest. The selected lots posted on the Profiles In History website are a nice preview to spark the curiosity of fans and serious prop collectors alike.
Wardrobe/costume is less appealing for me compared to the actual props, like Sawyer's letter, Kate's airplane/passport, Dharma labeled items, ect... Additionally, it's important to note the the classification/terminology associated with the prop or costume like "screen-used", "production-made", "hero version", "stunt version", "double version", "backup version" and "screen matched".
I hope to pick up a copy of their complete catalog next month at their booth at San Diego Comicon rather than waiting for a complete online version to be posted on their website.

You can buy those sunglasses for around £60 (UK Pound Sterling) online so there is no point paying $200-300 for them at the LOST Auction. I bet those aren't even the actual sunglasses Evi wore in the episode she probably kept them for herself (I think she wore them at Cannes in 2009 too). My guess is that another pair were bought to put up for auction.
