It was after Kenans set, right before the musical guest.

During Kenans set, he got up, put the wig on, and did a musical spoof of Tom Jones. He put the wig on for the performance. After the performance, they cut to commercial break, and when they came back, he was sitting down again next to Evi, and she had the wig on. They didn't really focus on it or anything, I think Fallon said "I like your new hair" or something but it was really quick, as he quickly introduced Keith Urban, who was the musical guest of the night.

She must have asked him for the wig during commercial break.

It was just Evi being funny...
