Re: Afterwards Discussion Thread
I absolutely loved this film, definitely one of my favourite films, I just loved the message of it! It's had me thinking about it ever since I finished watching and like...everytime I'm feeling down, or annoyed, or angry, or whatever at someone; then this film just comes into my head and makes you just stop and think..."No! Snap out of it...just get over it and move on, theres no point wasting time, just be happy and grateful"
Reeeeeally love it...and to be honest, don't think any other film has ever had that sort of effect in me before, really makes you think!
OMG! The twisty bit at the end!!!
I was like NOOOOOOOO!!!!

Re: Afterwards Discussion Thread
Yeah I know, I was expecting to like it b/c Evi's in it, but the thing that stuck out the most was the message. Evi was brilliant obviously but I love the movie b/c of the story, it really struck me...I suppose Evi's like the awesomest cherry on the top of the cake
hehe.
I'm not much of a reader, but would like to read the book. I was looking for a copy of it before the film came out but could only find French verisons
...and my French really isn't that good lol

Re: Afterwards Discussion Thread
I think there's only French version
I couldn't find any English version here.
I know now why Evi chose this role from all the scripts she gets every day. this is one it's pretty awesome. you know what the matter is the moment, today. you don't know where you'll be tomorrow.
Nathan was consumed in pain over losing Paul, and didn't see what he still got. IMO Claire is a very strong character considering the circumstances, losing a child is the most horrible thing that would happen to any mother, and still Claire was there for her daughter even that she was in pain.
you know what scene is very sweet/sad/moving, Nathan and Tracy talking about Paul.

Re: Afterwards Discussion Thread
I've just watched it, and I loved it. As you both have said, it has a very strong message. The end was so moving and sad. Evi's great on there, too. She has always said that she wouldn't accept a role that wasn't interesting, so she did well chosing Claire and being part of Afterwards
I think the book is only in French. I saw it here in French in more than one place, but my French is not good. I only know some basic words, grammar and expressions because I forgot a lot of things I learned in my 2 years of French at school as second foreign language. Anyway, it was funny when some time ago, while travelling by subway, I saw a girl reading 'Et Après', and it was like, hey! Evi!
