Evangeline Loves Getting Older

Evangeline Lilly "loves" getting older and said women don't reach their "peak" beauty until their forties. Evangeline, who turns 30 this year, plays the part of Kate in the island drama and has relocated to Hawaii to film the series.

Asked how she feels about growing older, she said: "I love it! I really believe that a woman doesn't reach her peak until her forties. "In your twenties you can be pretty, but you don't accomplish real beauty until you find wisdom and depth. I know it's going to take me another 15 years!" The actress admitted that she isn't planning on having surgery to enhance her look, but she isn't ruling it out. She said: "I always say 'never say never', but I have no intentions to at the moment. If I could choose to have any work done, I'd change my skin pigment and have a tan all the time. "I love brown skin - it's so sexy. When you're brown, you don't need much make-up to look great."

I love that, cause it's soooo true! I think people are more beautiful when they are wise and strong, then when they look like a barbiedoll. Your looks are just a small part from who a person really is.

If she resorts to have crappy plastic surgery or permanently change herself physically, I'm going to lose respect. I'm sorry to say that.

i personally dont think she'd ever do that. especially since getting a tan is such a simple thing. idk she just doesnt strike me as the kind of person who would have stuff done :p

Evangeline, who has been photographed frequently surfing in Hawaii (where Lost is filmed), stays in shape by running, lifting weights, hiking and doing yoga and Pilates.

The athletic Lilly admits she's obsessed with healthy eating. "I would love to pretend I don't diet, but I work very hard," she says. "I stay active and eat very healthy. Anybody who says otherwise is either unhealthy or lying! I will admit that I'm addicted to sugar--licorice, Jujubees and jelly candies. And I actually love bran muffins!"

But Evangeline doesn't let the pressures of Hollywood get to her. “I know women with eating disorders or who are not happy with their bodies," she says. “It’s so important for women to say to other women, ‘I like myself how I am.’"

She adds: "But it’s hard because in your heart of hearts you are thinking, ‘I don’t really.’ But you have to learn to say it. Imagine what a world it would be if people felt good about themselves the whole time.”
