Creation of rockization

I know that there alot of musicians on this site so could lend me your eyes for a second.

Some friends of mine wanna officially start a band. I was wondering how the song creating process works, like where does a guy start?
In what order do the following belong:
lyrics
bass
drums
melodie
guitar
etc.
Where do you start? To create a song you need all of the above, just whats the best way to start?

well i'm lookin for more of a classic-rock typed band,so I am going to have bass. I really don't like the white stripes that much either...

You write the music first, and then the lyrics...

But everyone works differently - so you do what feels best for you guys.

Yeah. I dunno but i think both lyrics and music come to you at the same time. Like these words rime with a melody in your head.

I feel so lost, like I can't get any words. If songs are about how you feel then I must have some serious communication skill defiencies or somthing. I want to be expressive and get the song down. It puts music in a whole different light now, how difficult it is to express a song.

We have a song now, but we can't come down with lyrics, just, nothing's coming easy,... I hope they'll come to me in a dream..
