He wouldn't have to stay in LA until then. The 29th is over a week away. Plenty of time for them to head out for a trip/vacation before he would need to come back and promote X-Men.

Doubt that or she would have been with him at the airport. He's probably flying back to LA to prepare for Wolverine press. The film has its U.S. premiere in Tempe, AZ on Monday the 27th. The LA premiere is on Tuesday the 28th.
